I am a life long car enthusiast especially classic cars and started working on them almost as soon as I could hold a spanner!
I have inherited this up from my Father as we always had older cars when I was young which needed repair from time to time, so it was inevitable that I would go into mechanics at some time.
I started working for a machinery supply company where I serviced and refurbished industrial steel working machinery; presses, guillotines, industrial band saws etc. some of which were shown at the N.E.C. Machinery Shows. From there I moved to a performance sports car specialist working in all aspects including body shop, fabrication, engine building and servicing.
Unfortunately after many years the company folded so I decided to turn the carburettor reconditioning -something I had been doing for many years part time as ebay member 'hangonladsivegotagreatidea' with the aim of turning it into a full time business. So in 2013 I formed G.W.Carbs and have since enjoyed great success with positive feedback from customers - my ebay feedback speaks for itself.
Over the years we have owned many classic cars but my passion is for the Classic Mini. I have had my 1963 MK1 Mini for 23 years and over which time I have fully restored it to Show condition and along with this a whole host of other early Mini's.
My Father and I have been members of the Mini Cooper Register for 28 years and are also members of the MG Owners Club so I have great experience of dealing with many parts suppliers and know what it means to get good service and above all receive friendly help and advice which is something I pride myself on.
